Voice Conferences

UMATS now offers a voice conferencing service available to all USM institutions. The methods for scheduling a teleconference are by using the online form or by email. The UMATS staff will provide the primary contact with the conference phone number, conference extension, and password. The primary contact is responsible for informing all participants of date, time, phone numbers, conference identification, and passwords. In the event of technical difficulty, users may call the UMATS staff directly.

Voice conferences should be scheduled at least two days in advance, however we recommend scheduling a conference a week in advance. To allow technical adjustments, conferences should start on time. Each conference will terminate promptly on schedule.

How To Schedule A Conference

1. Participants should be prepared to provide the following information:
   Primary contact's name
   Primary contact's email address
   Primary contact's telephone number
   Date(s) Requested
   Duration (start and end time)
   Number participating in the call (maximum is 20)
   Brief title describing the purpose of the call
   IVN sites included in the call (optional)
   
   
2. Submit your voice conference requests by:
   Completing the online form
   Sending an email request to teleconference@usmd.edu
   Call Christopher McCorkle (301-445-2790) or Dave Israel (301-445-2768)
   
   
3. Confirmation email will be sent to the primary contact. The confirmation will list the conference extension (or conference id) and corresponding password (if required).
